Are XBRL filings audited?

XBRL filings are reproductions of annual and quarterly reports filed by the company. As such, the information contained within was reviewed by an auditor before it was translated to XBRL. However, the translation process and resulting interactive filing is currently not required to be double checked by an independent professional, like an audit firm.
